On-Board Service On Domestic Flights
Candidates from the flight attendant faculty (แอร์โฮสเตส เรียนคณะอะไร which is the term in Thai) who pass the selection must also undergo a toxicological examination that looks for traces of illicit and psychoactive substances in the body. After receiving the “green light” of the exam, the candidate will receive a list with the necessary documents to formalize the hiring. Even before being called for a selection, it is essential to have your documents in order, such as RG, CPF and to be settled with your electoral obligations.
Candidates who are eliminated at any stage of the process must respect a grace period that varies between 6 months and two years to apply again at that company. However, they will be able to participate in selection processes at other companies.
How Is The Training After Hiring?
Once hired, it is the company’s responsibility to train the flight attendant to perform his duties on a particular airplane model. The companies have real universities with exclusive equipment to train employees.
Generally, this training takes between 40 and 60 days, and the crew members go through the “check”, which is a practical test of the aircraft functions in charge of the flight attendants. Upon approval, the flight attendant receives his CHT – Certificate of Technical Qualification and is ready to fly. The document is issued by Anac and is valid for five years. The crew member will have no cost in training or issuing the CHT.
What Is The Expectation Of Growth In The Profession?
Each company offers a different career path. They all have in common the appreciation of seniority; that is, the time the employee is in the company is always taken into account. Those who are older can receive more benefits such as the preference to schedule vacations, holidays, and more choice in the routes they will work on.
Generally speaking, new hires begin their careers by crewing domestic flights on equipment such as Airbus A320 and A319, Boeing 737, and Embraer 195. Over time and gaining experience, flight attendants can be promoted to cabin chiefs and even called to operate long-haul flights on wide-body (two-aisle) aircraft such as Airbus A330 and A350 and Boeing B777 and B767.
